took the ferry to beachside town on the gulf. after katrina 90% of buildings are gone. only cement pads remain. a few trucks, boats, sheds tipped over in roadside fields. most of debris gone, but no new houses, or a few. lots of trael trailers sitting near slabs that were homes. one carb shack on beach is rebuilt and serving..
